Curious Minds Learning Center (CMLC) offers a comprehensive preschool and extended care program for children ages two to five, following a September–June academic calendar. Rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our school celebrates curiosity, creativity, and connection—with learning experiences designed to honor each child’s unique voice and pace of growth.
At CMLC, relationships are at the heart of our work—between children, educators, families, and the wider community. Together, we create an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to explore the world around them.
What Makes Us Unique
The Natural Classroom: Weekly excursions to the Richardson Bay Audubon Sanctuary in Tiburon offer children the chance to explore, observe, and connect with nature in meaningful ways. (Younger children begin attending in January.)
Strong Community: Family events and connections outside of school nurture a sense of belonging that extends beyond the classroom.
Project-Based Learning: Our curriculum is child-led and teacher-supported, inviting deep inquiry, creativity, and collaboration.
Portfolios: Each child’s developmental journey is documented through portfolios—both as a record of growth and a keepsake of their preschool years.

The Willow Class (Ages 2-3.5)
Our Willow Class welcomes our youngest learners into a nurturing environment where play, discovery, and relationships shape the foundation for lifelong learning.
Here, children begin forming their first friendships outside the home, learning that “grown-ups always come back” and that connection and communication help them navigate their world. Teachers gently guide children in building their first peer community, honoring their emerging independence and individuality.
Through dramatic play, sensory exploration, and open-ended art experiences, children express themselves in many languages—developing confidence, creativity, and resilience.
The Oak Class (Ages 3.6-5)
Our Oak Class offers a vibrant, project-based environment where children’s curiosity leads the way. Educators observe, document, and build upon children’s ideas, creating a curriculum that reflects their questions and discoveries.
As children deepen their friendships and collaborative skills, they begin exploring the larger community—visiting the Corte Madera Marketplace, working in small project groups, and creating monthly self-portraits that celebrate identity and growth.
These experiences foster critical thinking, empathy, and a strong sense of belonging. By the time our Oaks graduate, they are well-prepared—socially, emotionally, and intellectually—to transition into Kindergarten with confidence and joy.
