At Curious Minds Learning Center, families are truly the heart of our community. We recognize parents as a child’s first teachers and deeply value the opportunity to walk alongside you as your child begins to explore life beyond the comfort of home.
While we are not a parent cooperative, our school thrives on family involvement. The ideas, energy, and support our families bring help create a compassionate and inclusive culture—one that feels like an extension of home. Our goal is to build a genuine partnership with each family, ensuring this early chapter of your child’s life is nurturing, meaningful, and joyful.
Way to Get Involved
Parent Association
Our Parent Association, together with classroom room parents, organizes community gatherings such as holiday celebrations, parent nights out, park playdates, and our beloved CMLC Movie Night each fall.
The Natural Classroom
Families are invited to join our weekly Natural Classroom experiences at the Richardson Bay Audubon Sanctuary. Parents assist teachers and help create memorable outdoor learning adventures for the children.
A Day in the Life
Parents are encouraged to spend a morning in the classroom, experiencing the rhythm and wonder of their child’s day firsthand.
Harvest Feast
Each autumn, we celebrate with our Harvest Feast—a cherished tradition honoring the season and the diversity of our community. Families share favorite dishes, from comforting classics to international favorites, creating a joyful and shared table of gratitude.
Small Acts of Beauty
For families with limited time to volunteer, simple gestures like bringing a bouquet to brighten the classroom are appreciated. Every contribution adds warmth and care to our shared space.
Communication & Connection
Open communication is at the heart of our collaboration. Our secure, password-protected Family Portal is a central hub for our community, where families can access the calendar, directory, volunteer sign-ups, photo galleries, and teacher updates.
Each week, teachers share journal updates, offering a glimpse into classroom discoveries, emerging projects, and meaningful moments of learning. Families also receive weekly Google Albums with photos and videos documenting their child’s experiences, play, and collaboration—providing a beautiful window into their world at school.
We also hold two formal parent-teacher conferences each year, offering dedicated time for reflection, dialogue, and shared insight—strengthening the connection between home and school.
Together, we nurture a community where children and families grow, connect, and thrive.
